Steak Tartare, Paris (France) - Travel Guide
Learn all about the French specialty - Steak Tartare. Other Information: Restaurant Featured Brasserie du Théâtre 59, rue de Clichy 75009 Paris 33.01.48.74.91.00 Just after a play or having a work in Paris, you can have dinner in Brasserie du Theatre, a very nice and very casual Bistro. "I have worked here at the Brasserie du Theatre for 10 years. Steak Tartar is a dish that our customers order often because people do not have it too often in their own homes. What you should know is, once the meat is ground up, it only stays good for about an hour. There you have an egg, some capers, there you have some onions and here you have some pickles and over there you have some parsley. Next, I am going to add just a bit of ketchup. Then some mustard, and then the magic touch, a dash of olive oil. There are a lot of people who make Steak Tartar with mayonnaise and that, to me, is unacceptable. So here we have the true Steak Tartar in the purest form. And you should know that Steak Tartar in the beginning was made from horse meat that was chopped up with a knife. The basis for the real steak tartar was horse meat, but now, in France in restaurants, we are not allowed to serve horse meat anymore. We make it with beef. Here you see, you have to mix it very well. I will arrange it nicely on another plate. For me, the way I prepare it is the purest methods, but in larger brasseries it is often made with mayonnaise. To me, that is not the pure recipe, but that is just my opinion because ...Go to the Source: Steak Tartare, Paris (France) - Travel Guide | 27 May 2010 | 2:28 pm

Fashion Street, Paris (France) - Travel Guide
Take a tour of Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré where you find the most upscale and luxury brands. Location 8th Arrondissement Getting There/Directions Metro: Saint-Philippe-du-Roule Paris is synonymous with Fashion, so it is inevitable there is a fashion District here. The fashion District I am in is located on one of Paris's oldest Medieval Street, the Rue Du Faubourg, Saint Honore. Let's take a walk down the street and indulge in some window shopping. There is a series of designer showrooms, featuring clothes, cosmetics and furnishing. There are also a few avaunt guard exclusive Paris girl boutiques on the street, just remember the prices are actually quite hyper and exclusive. It may take you half a day to walk along the street. Each shop window seems more attractive than the last one you just saw. In fact, window decoration is taken very seriously. The showroom with the most attractive display is the one located here at Hermes, Hermes is considered by many to be a representation, Parisian culture. Hermes'signature peace is, of course, the scarf. Perhaps the most renowned label here is Christian Dior. The label that made Paris the leader of fashion after the second world war. The amnesty here is a little bit on the formal side, not surprising, since here are the richest shops in Paris. So, be sure to wear presentable clothes. Belleville Neighborhood, Paris (France) - Travel Guide
Unlikely to be found in a guide book, the upcoming neighborhood is full of rough charm. Getting There/Directions Metro - Line 11 to Belleville stop For a glimpse of Bohemian Paris, take a walk down the neighborhoods of Belleville. The area is a melting pot of various cultures, adding to the colors and caste. Belleville used to be a quaint village and it was annexed in the city of Paris in the 19th century. Belleville somehow has always attracted refugees from all over the world. Now, however, there is another group that returns its place. Artists and party animals. All shops have been converted to art galleries and restaurants, and they are much cuter and cheaper than in other neighborhoods. Like most unplanned townships, the neighborhood has its own charm. The cobbled streets and the stores and old windows make great photographic material. When you come to Belleville, do take a stroll through the Belleville Park, and the view from some spots is just breathtaking. Of course you can see the Eiffel Tower and the big skycraper over there is the Tour Montparnasse.
