World Record Lego Tower built in Korea for Lego's 80th birthday

In celebration of Lego Group's 80th birthday, Lego Korea built a tower to beat the previous 103-foot, eight-inch record in France. Armed with over 500000 bricks, 4000 children contest winners and five days of building time, the event attracted more than 50000 visitors. The Crown Prince of Denmark placed the last record breaking brick on the tower that reached 104-feet and seven inches. Hyundai Sonata crash in Korea due to sudden acceleration "Caught on Tape"

A senior couple's tragic car accident, video images of which have shocked South Korean drivers for the past week, is now getting government attention. On Monday, the Ministry of Land, Transport & Maritime Affairs said it launched an investigation into a sudden acceleration claim that led to the accident in Daegu on May 6. Video evidence appears to show that the couple's Hyundai Sonata suddenly accelerated and, after 13 seconds of maneuvering by the driver to avoid other cars, wound up rear-ending a car at a stoplight at a speed of 130 km/h, or about 80 miles per hour. That set off a chain reaction accident that involved several other vehicles and injured 17 people. The couple in the car, a man and woman in their 60s, were on their way to a department store, their son, who asked to be identified only by his family name Kwon, said in an interview on Monday. Mr. Kwon extracted the video of the accident from a "black box" used to record information in the event of a crash. He uploaded it on an internet forum because he said he didn't think police and Hyundai were persuaded that it was a sudden acceleration incident.

Technology drives S Korea 'smart' school

We already have witnessed how technology and internet revolution have changed the modern day communications. South Korea has gone a step ahead and unveiled a 'smart' high school where roll calling is a thing of the past and tablet computers or 'smart pads' have replaced bags burdened with notebooks. The prototype 'smart school' has technology at its core where students are experiencing the ultimate high-tech education. The government believes that a digital economy will require a technology-savvy workforce, and the new school seems to fit into their motto: Today's pupils are tomorrow's pioneers. Rockets over North Korea: Stunning video of Pyongyang's festive fireworks

Rockets exploded above North Korea Sunday, this time in celebration, as a glittering fireworks display lit up the night sky of Pyongyang. The pyrotechnics show was part of the climax to days of special events intended to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kim Il Sung, officially revered in North Korea as its founding leader. On Sunday night, sound and light erupted above the Taedong River, which runs through the centre of capital Pyongyang. The main backdrop to the show was a monument called "The Tower of the Juche Idea." Juche is an ideology which North Korean authorities say was developed by Kim Il Sung. It is often translated into English as "self reliance." Earlier Sunday, North Korea's new leader Kim Jong Un made his first known televised public speech - a major departure from the style of his father and predecessor as leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Il.
